UPDATE: I MOVED TO GEORGIA.

Hello everyone!

That’s right. I moved to Georgia!

A little back story…

As many of you may know, I went on the World Race in January 2018 and returned back to the states this past December. In 2018, I was able to participate in various ministries, such as: visiting a leprosy colony in Nepal, speaking to juvenile inmates in Northern Thailand, playing with children with disabilities at an orphanage in Guatemala, teaching English in Cambodia, and more. 2018 was a challenging whirlwind of a year with immense growth and one that would surely change my life forever.

When I got back to the states, I had planned on immediately signing with the military, which has been a dream of mine for some time now. It is vulnerable to share when plans change because of our culture. Not getting what you want or initially intended is scary because it can be perceived as failure.

I’m just going to be honest. After coming home, it was evident that doors were closing left and right and that this was not in fact the proper time for me to join the service, like I was initially planning.

Not shortly after the door to the military closed, my squad mentor from the world race reached out to me and prompted me to reconsider an Alumni opportunity called Center For Global Action (CGA). The official mission of CGA is:

“The Center for Global Action exists to mobilize a generation to be passionate followers of Jesus who live out their faith whether at home, professionally, or church planting overseas.”

If I decided to join CGA, this would mean uprooting and leaving my family yet again and entering into another season of fundraising, which I didn’t really want to do.

I very quickly decided I had to set aside my pride & need for control and chose to apply anyway. I got accepted in December and moved to Gainesville in January. I am now an apprentice of The Center for Global Action, where I am living in community with 7 other girls, attending class 5 days a week, and also working a part time job.

The military is still on my radar, but I feel like I was being pulled to this next step in Georgia because God wants to refine the hard lessons I was taught on the world race and be able to truly transfer them over more smoothly to America. The teachers of this apprenticeship program strive to impart leadership so that we are able to go out and cultivate growth in others whether in the church, in the corporate world, or overseas. I am excited for this next step as I feel it is a perfect season to continue to be trained on how to encourage others in America in various spiritual, emotional, and mental ways. I desire to use the leadership and my power of influence for the good of others and I feel CGA is the platform for me to do so in this season.

With that, as mentioned above, I am entering another season of fundraising and I need your help. It has taken a lot to change my mindset on fundraising so instead of viewing it as a burden to people, I now actively choose to view it as an invitation to invest into what God is doing. The total cost for the 5 months of the program is $5,900. Whether you feel stirred to donate $1 or $1,000, or to just simply share this blog to get the word out, your participation is necessary and all part of the process!
